The Little Old Brush Arbor

A song written by my grandfather (pictured on sheet music) in 1939. The music was written in shape note. A brush arbor is made by laying branches, leaves, and other brush over a wooden frame to create a shady area. Such an area would be used for revival meetings, which I imagine would have been popular when Will was a young man in west Texas. Incidentally, I am playing Grandfather Will's Epiphone Guitar. This is an early hollow-body electric model (among the first electrics), probably built between 1938 and 1939 - around the time this song was published. Family legend has it that Will lead music in his church with this same guitar.
